These highly successful fully catered three day workshops have been especially popular.
Enjoy three days of observational drawing in a fully supported environment. Draw to hone skills in observation, concentration and patience. Come and allow structured time to draw, the basis of all visual artwork.
This three day workshop will take you on an intensive and exploratory journey into more observational and patient drawing. Build skills that will compliment and strengthen your visual arts interests, be it professional or less experienced. Workshops are held in mutually supportive small groups in Catherine's light filled and air conditioned studio in lovely Castlemaine, Central Victoria.
Two sessions of drawing each of the three days, punctuated with morning and afternoon teas as well a delicious light lunch.
Strictly limited to six participants (three during COVID restrictions). Cost $550 also includes materials, delicious lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
COVID safety
We will be very well spaced. When necessary, masks are to be worn and sanitiser used according to government regulations. Weather permitting I will have the large doors open in the studio to allow for extra ventilation. No more than four people in the studio at any time.
Catherine Pilgrim's 3 day workshop was everything I needed to catalyse me into action after a long break from creative enterprise. Catherine is encouraging, warm and generous in her approach. As well as being an inspiring artist, she is a great teacher. She nurtures your creativity and skill development gently and the wonderful meals and homemade cakes were a fabulous bonus. Hannah

Testimonials
What a special experience it has been to spend a long weekend in Catherine’s drawing workshop. A generous, kind and patient teacher, Catherine helped each of us see the world through fresh eyes and then pushed us (ever so gently) to exceed our expectations of ourselves. I’m so glad Mum and I went together and shared the experience.
Fiona
It was such a beautiful experience to share in your workshop. We were truly pampered which was an unexpected bonus to the knowledge you share with us. I absolutely loved it and was surprised by the drawings I managed to produce. Thank you for your encouragement. I know that the weekend has given me more confidence to start at La Trobe.
Ruth
Thank you for an exceptional three days of observing, attending and concentrating - as well as eating fine food in great company.
Thank you for your hospitality and patience and your light touch in making suggestions.
Janet
Thank you so much for welcoming us into your studio, your generous tutelage and delicious food - as I said at the time, it was such a luxury to have the room and opportunity to sit and draw. I'm determined to make a bit space in my everyday to keep that going.
Rachael
Thanks for such a lovely weekend. You held the space and communicated your knowledge so beautifully. I am looking forward to continuing with my drawing learning and exploring.
Thanks again, Sue Benham

As a number cruncher then farmer who has decided she wants to draw, your class was informative and most encouraging. Cannot really suggest anything that would improve the class... I came away more enlightened and more confident.
Lesley
I joined one of Catherine's classes and, despite being the only rank beginner, enjoyed myself thoroughly. The atmosphere was convivial and supportive and we all developed our skills a great deal under Catherine's disciplined but gentle guidance.
Lynne Kelly
Catherine's classes have enabled me to reconnect with the process of drawing. The classes are inspiring with their focus on observation, technique and individual interpretation. Catherine's skill, not only in her own work, but in bringing out the best in her students and encouraging discussion, results in a very stimulating learning environment.
Sally
I always thought I was a detail person but your classes instilled new observation skills and highlighted the importance of accuracy and spending time getting the drawing right.
Pam
Hello Catherine, I'm on the way to Melbourne with my framed drawing - very happy. A mixture of pride, satisfaction and humility overwhelmed when looking at my first piece of framed artwork. Thank you so much for teaching me the skills I have learned and the extra help and time involved.
