Join Catherine Pilgrim for tutored drawing groups aimed at beginners and intermediate draughts-people looking to improve their skills in observational drawing. Work with Catherine and a small group of fellow students on exercises to improve ‘seeing’, while also reinforcing fundamentals such as gesture, tone and proportion. Working from Catherine’s light filled studio, we will work towards inspiring you to take your drawing further.
These highly successful sessions have been running since 2014. Catherine Pilgrim learnt to draw in Australia and Washington DC and has been exhibiting for over twenty five years. Her work can be found in Public and Corporate Collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Geelong Regional Gallery and Perri Cutten. Catherine’s approach is skill based while also aligned with the inclusive philosophy of the Campaign for Drawing, who promote drawing to learn, rather than learning to draw. Catherine’s Masters of Fine Art research (Monash University) was based around the subjective process of making a representational drawing. Catherine has also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

(Please Note - In case of lockdowns we can run the sessions via Zoom - this is the only way I can run these sessions with any viability. I do my best to ensure you have the best possible online experience. Please discuss this with me if you have any concerns. It is hoped that we won't have to worry about lockdowns so much from here on.)
