​I’ve done three terms of drawing classes plus a weekend intensive with Catherine - she is a fabulous teacher. She has a focus on technique and confidence but in a way where you just keep ‘putting lines on the paper’ and before you even realise it, you’ve developed more skills and talent. I never thought I could draw; I hadn’t even tried for 20 years. But Looking back over my progress with Catherine I can see that I just needed the right teacher to unlock my willingness to give it a go and guide my hand and sight. Catherine sets the scene for our weekly drawing experience by providing  a warm and inviting studio with everything we need made available for a unique 2 1/2 hr session. There are sharp pencils, erasers, paper and carefully planned lessons and best of all at break time, a healthy black tea which is served in a beautiful cup and saucer accompanied by a homemade slice or biscuit.  It's a place to unwind from the stresses of the week and enjoy the pleasure of just drawing.

I can't thank you enough for the beautiful time I had at your workshop. And Emily, Robyn and Kym were such fantastic people to share the experience with, it was such a joy! I feel like it's set me up well for the year, with my main thing that's stayed in my mind being how much satisfaction can be found through simple persistence and observation. I'm doing little bits of drawing each day, and am also on the lookout for my next subject.

I loved this workshop for so many reasons: Catherine's supportive and empowering guidance and drawing exercises, within such a peaceful and pleasant environment,  was such a treat to immerse myself  in for the weekend. 
I felt I really made progress and improved my drawing skills. I've also found I now have a 'way in' to continue to draw at home using the things I learnt and a greater appreciation for the act of drawing itself. The delicious and healthy catering was perfect and thoughtfully prepared. Catherine Pilgrim's 3 day workshop was everything I needed to catalyse me into action after a long break from creative enterprise. Catherine is encouraging, warm and generous in her approach. As well as being an inspiring artist, she is a great teacher. She nurtures your creativity and skill development gently and the wonderful meals and homemade cakes were a fabulous bonus.
